The Berwick Bar & Kitchen is a cornerstone venue within the Baillie Hill Precinct in East Victoria Park - one of Perth's newest hospitality destinations.
Combining elevated pub dining, premium beverages, and a strong events offering, The Berwick delivers a warm, energetic guest experience across restaurant dining, bar service, and functions in The Long Hall event space.
We're seeking an experienced and guest-focused Restaurant Manager to lead day-to-day operations and help drive service excellence across the venue.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced hospitality professional who thrives in fast-paced service environments and enjoys developing high-performing teams.
You'll oversee daily restaurant operations, lead front-of-house service, and work closely with the Functions Manager to ensure seamless delivery of events and functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily restaurant operations across service periods
- Supervise food and beverage service to ensure a consistently high guest experience
- Manage restaurant staff including recruitment, rostering, training, and performance development
- Oversee on-the-day delivery of functions and events in The Long Hall
- Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and service consistency
- Coordinate bookings, floor operations, and service flow to maximise guest satisfaction
- Handle customer feedback and resolve service issues professionally and efficiently
- Monitor stock control, ordering, and venue supplies
- Assist with budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting targets
- Ensure compliance with food safety, licensing, and workplace health & safety requirements
- Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented culture
- Work closely with senior management to support venue growth and performance
About You
You're a confident and approachable hospitality leader who leads from the floor and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.
You will bring:
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager, Assistant Manager, or Functions Manager within hospitality
- Strong food, beverage, and service knowledge
- Experience leading teams in busy restaurant, pub, or events environments
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Confidence using POS and booking systems (Now Book It, Bepoz, or similar)
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Experience coordinating functions or events is highly regarded but not essential.
