A Senior Pharmacy Technician in Australia supports pharmacists by dispensing medications, managing inventory, compounding products, and supervising junior staff. The right candidate will also be responsible for data management, in-house book keeping, social meda marekting campaigns and marketing campigns onsite. The candidate needs to visit aged care facilities and conduct strict audits , create SMART reports, attend meetings and assist in vaccinations. The position entails a high degree of organisational skill level to undertake the task of the dispensary.
- Dispensing, supply, and distribution of medications: Ensuring that medications are dispensed correctly and that supplies are available for patients. Has a sound knowledge of Fred plus/Zed dispensing system.
- Patient Interaction: Serving as the first point of contact for patients, collecting information, verifying insurance coverage, and assisting with routine questions while referring medical advice to pharmacists
- Assist pharmacist in Dose Administration Aids prepping and packing. Ensuring the blister packs are checked and collected by the patients in a timely manner
- Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels, tracking expiration dates, ordering and restocking medications, and maintaining proper storage conditions
- Training & Mentorship: Lead the onboarding and competency training of junior staff and students.
- Standard Operating Procedures: Develop, update, and enforce technical pharmacy protocols to maintain high safety standards.
- Has the ability to compound medicine under the supervision of the pharmacist.
- Ability to set up Sleep Study, masking fitting, set up CPAP machines and monitors customers with obstructive sleep apnea disorder.
- Xero book-keeping skills
- marketing experience across social media and traditional marketing platforms.
Qualification:
- Certificate IV Pharmacy Technician or equivalent to 5-10 years' experience.
- Sleep Study - CPAP Training Certificate.
- Pharmacist Assisted Dose Administration Aids - experience of 2-5 years.
- Police check
- working with children check.
