The Sovereign Resort Hotel Pty Ltd T/A Sovereign Resort Hotel, located at 128 Charlotte Street, Cooktown QLD 4895, is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Barista to join our hospitality team.
This is a full-time position. The successful applicant will receive a yearly salary of $72736.56 per annum plus superannuation.
As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverage products while delivering exceptional customer service to hotel guests.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
· Prepare and serve beverages like coffee, blended coffees, espresso drinks, and teas whether hot or cold
· Latte / Coffee Art
· Describe items on the menu to customers, educating customers about the menu and make recommendations of products that might appeal to customers
· Order, receive, and/ or stock supplies for coffee making. Stock inventory according to requirements. Monitor inventory
· Receive customer payments & process
· Maintaining Cleanliness within the workspace and all equipment. Perform general and preventive maintenance on machines used for coffee making regularly. Dismantle machinery and clean appropriately. Check Temperatures of heating equipment to ensure proper functioning.
· Ensure work area is clean and sanitized, including sanitising utensils, or equipment
· Take orders from customers and convey to other employees for preparation
· Demonstrate to customer, how to make use of retail equipment, such as espresso machines
· Educate customers on current promotions and new products
· Respond to customer complaints
· Train fellow employees in Barista
· Create Signs to advertise promotional deals or events
Work Experience & Qualifications
· AQF or equivalent Certificate II and at least one and a half (1.5) years (20 plus hours per week) relevant work experience; or
· AQF or equivalent Certificate III and at least one (1) year (20 plus hours per week) relevant work experience; ; or
· Have at least two (2) years (35 hours per week) relevant work experience
· Certificate of Responsible Service of Alcohol RSA
