About the Role
Are you a qualified Motor Mechanic looking for your next challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Motor Mechanic to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of vehicles and plant that support the delivery of essential services across our network. You'll carry out preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair faults, perform safety inspections and ensure our fleet remains safe, reliable and compliant.
Working as part of a skilled and supportive team, you'll have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise, work on a variety of equipment and contribute to keeping our fleet operating safely and efficiently.
Key Accountabilities

Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, trailers and plant, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.

Diagnose mechanical faults, complete preventative maintenance and coordinate repairs to maximise fleet reliability and minimise vehicle downtime.

Conduct RMS safety inspections, maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all statutory compliance documentation is completed correctly.

Manage workshop resources, including ordering and controlling spare parts and consumables, while maintaining a safe, clean and organised work environment.

Support fleet operations by assisting with accident investigations, compliance inspections, standby duties and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure vehicles remain operational and available.
Required Qualifications

Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or a related Automotive Engineering trade qualification.

Current Motor Vehicle Repair Industry Council (MVRIC) Licence.

Heavy Vehicle Authorised Examiner Certificate and Safety Check Examiner accreditation (or the ability to obtain).

Current HR (Heavy Rigid) Driver Licence.

Current Class C Driver Licence.

General Construction Induction (White Card).
Skills and Experience
You'll bring demonstrated experience as a qualified Motor Mechanic, preferably working with heavy vehicles, commercial fleets or plant equipment. You have strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, a sound understanding of fleet maintenance and compliance requirements, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality work. You are organised, work well in a team and are willing to participate in an on-call standby roster with flexible working hours.
