THERAPY Mental Health is seeking an experienced and compassionate Female Disability Support Worker who speaks Dari to support a young NDIS participant.
Please note: Being female and fluent in Dari are essential requirements for this position due to the participant's needs and preferences.
This role is ideal for support workers who are confident working independently, can build strong therapeutic relationships, and have experience supporting children with complex behaviours, trauma histories, mental health presentations, and high support needs.
About the Role
You will provide person-centred support to a young participant within their home and community, assisting them to work towards their individual goals while promoting independence, wellbeing, and community participation.
Duties may include:
- Community access and social participation
- Emotional regulation and wellbeing support
- Assistance attending appointments and activities
- Daily living and routine support
- Behaviour support implementation
- Building life skills and confidence
- Risk identification and reporting
- Supporting the participant to engage safely within their community
About You
To be successful, you will have:
✔ Fluent Dari language skills (Essential)
✔ Experience supporting children and/or young people
✔ Experience supporting people with complex mental health or psychosocial disabilities
✔ Strong understanding of professional boundaries and trauma-informed practice
✔ Ability to remain calm and responsive during challenging situations
✔ Excellent communication and documentation skills
✔ Ability to work independently and manage risk effectively
✔ A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable people

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
- Smartphone and computer literacy
- Right to work in Australia
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Mental Health
- Certificate IV in Disability
- Community Services qualifications
- Experience supporting children with complex needs
- Mental Health First Aid
- Experience working with CALD families
