About the opportunity
As the Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing (VIC/TAS), you will play a critical leadership role in shaping and embedding a high-performing safety culture across one of Australia Post's largest operational regions. Reporting to the GM Health, Safety & Wellbeing, you'll partner with senior operational leaders across Network Operations and StarTrack to drive the execution of enterprise safety strategy, improve safety performance, and influence sustainable change at scale.
Success in this role will be measured by your ability to build trusted partnerships with senior stakeholders, strengthen safety leadership capability, reduce injury risks, and deliver meaningful improvements in safety outcomes across a complex operational environment. Leading a team of Safety Business Partners, you'll provide strategic direction, challenge conventional thinking, and ensure a consistent, proactive approach to safety across the network.

- Partner with senior operational leaders to influence decision-making and embed safety as a core business priority across Network Operations.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Safety Business Partners to deliver high-quality, commercially relevant safety advice and support.
- Use safety insights, trends and performance data to identify opportunities, shape interventions and drive continuous improvement across the region.
- Champion the implementation of enterprise health, safety and wellbeing initiatives while ensuring alignment with legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements.
- Lead the Functional Safety plan for our Delivery Partners
About you
You're a respected safety leader who combines strategic thinking with strong operational credibility. You know how to influence at executive level, build trusted relationships and navigate complex environments to deliver meaningful outcomes. Equally comfortable challenging the status quo and coaching senior leaders, you're passionate about creating safer workplaces and fostering a culture where people can perform at their best.
You bring a collaborative leadership style, exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate complex safety concepts into practical, actionable solutions. Most importantly, you're motivated by making a genuine impact on people, culture and organisational performance.
You’ll also
- Demonstrated success leading health, safety and wellbeing functions within a large, complex and operationally intensive organisation.
- Proven experience influencing executive and senior leadership teams to deliver strategic safety outcomes and cultural change.
- Relevant Health & Safety qualifications, coupled with strong knowledge of contemporary safety legislation, governance and risk management practices.
