What we are looking for:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Water Industry Team Leader to provide hands‑on leadership, technical direction and on‑site support to water and sewer network teams. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, compliant and high‑quality operational, maintenance and construction outcomes for Council and the community.
What your day will look like:
- Lead on‑site water and sewer network operations, maintenance and construction works.
- Respond to emergency incidents to meet service and legislative requirements.
- Provide practical guidance, mentoring and task allocation to field crews.
- Operate and oversee plant and equipment including jetting, vacuum, vehicles and machinery.
- Support investigations, defect identification and technical problem‑solving.
- Complete job documentation, reporting and work orders accurately and on time.

What you’ll need for success:
- General Construction Induction (White Card).
- Valid MR licence recognised in Queensland.
- Refer to role classification contained with Position Description.
- Demonstrated experience in water industry operations, maintenance and construction.
- Strong on‑site leadership and mentoring capability in a field‑based environment.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety and safe systems of work.
- Ability to read plans, complete documentation and use digital work systems.
What’ s nice to have:
- Apply First Aid Certification
- Skid Steer Loader Operations Ticket
- Forklift (Class LF) High Risk Work Licence
- Confined Space Certification.
