Job description:
We are seeking an experienced Support Worker for an ongoing shifts in Wollert.
The successful candidate must have experience supporting participants with diverse needs, including cognitive, neurological and physical impairments, as well as:
- Seizure management
- Diabetes management
- Medication management
- Personal care and daily living support
- Previous experience in SIL or complex support environments is highly regarded.
About the Role:
You will be supporting clients with a variety of cognitive, neurological, and physical impairments. Your role will involve promoting independence, participating in community accesses, supporting daily living, and encouraging participation in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with domestic tasks such as shopping, menu planning, cooking, washing, toileting, and cleaning
- Support with outings, social activities, and daily routines
- Provide companionship and encourage skill development, independence, and confidence
- Assist with medication management, meal plans, fluid intake, health appointments, and general well-being
- Assist where needed with Seizure management and Diabetes management
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment while also being able to work independently when required
- Apply problem-solving skills to manage day-to-day challenges
- Prescribe and utilise a range of disability equipment as needed
- Deliver client-focused, timely, and flexible support that respects individual needs
About You:
- Experience working in SIL home setting
- Experience working in Community Access with NDIS Participants
- Must have a safe and Reliable car
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of the ongoing challenges faced by people living with disability across different life stages
- Commitment to inclusive, person-centered support
- Experience with seizure support
- Experience with Individuals who have suffered an ABI.
