The Cabinet Office is seeking applications to fill an immediate ongoing Director role and also offering the opportunity to join our Public Service Senior Executive (PSSE) Band 1 Talent Pool.

About the Role and Talent Pool
We currently have one immediate senior executive opportunity for professionals with strong strategic policy expertise, economic and/or commercial policy capability and excellent stakeholder engagement experience to join the Economic, Housing and Infrastructure Group in TCO.
Additionally, we are seeking to establish a Director, Policy (Public Service Senior Executive [PSSE] Band Talent Pool to fill future vacancies as they arise in the Group or elsewhere in TCO over the next 18 months.
The Economic, Housing and Infrastructure Group in TCO leads on strategic advice to the Premier and Cabinet across a substantial range of matters including Transport, Treasury, Creative Industries, Infrastructure, Planning and Housing portfolios.
Director, Policy
The immediate ongoing Director Policy vacancy sits within the Economic Policy branch of the Economic, Housing and Infrastructure Group. This is a varied and high-impact executive leadership role where you will lead a large policy team that provides advice on a diverse range of policy matters, including Transport, Creative Industries, Fair Trading, and Liquor and Gaming.
You will lead complex policy projects, review and advise on major commercial and infrastructure proposals and provide strategic advice that informs Cabinet deliberations and government priorities. The role requires a collaborative leader and strategic thinker who can guide a high-performing team, manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment. You will bring sound judgement, policy insight and the ability to draw on economic principles and commercial knowledge to shape complex policy work. You will have the ability to translate information into clear advice for senior decision-makers and build productive relationships across government and industry to influence reform and investment outcomes.

We're Looking For
- Policy Leadership & Reform: You have extensive experience leading complex policy reform, resolving competing policy issues and delivering strategic outcomes in dynamic and politically sensitive environments.
- Economic and/or commercial policy capability: You are able to lead the team in reviewing, advising and engaging on major infrastructure investment proposals and work closely with other government agencies to support value for money outcomes for the state.

Stakeholder Engagement & Influence: Demonstrated exceptional communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence senior decision-makers and drive collaboration across government, industry and community sectors.

People Leadership: Be an inspiring and adaptable leader with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, fostering innovation, building capability and creating a culture of accountability, flexibility and continuous improvement.

Strategic Analysis & Decision Making: Exhibit strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information and provide clear, evidence-based advice and recommendations.
