About the Role
The Brown Jug Café is seeking an experienced and motivated Pastrycook to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a busy café environment, preparing and presenting high-quality pastry products while contributing to the continued success of our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, bake, and decorate a variety of pastries, cakes, desserts, and baked goods.
- Follow recipes and maintain consistency in product quality and presentation.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards.
- Assist with menu development and creation of new pastry items.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- To be successful in this role, applicants should have:
- AQF Certificate III in Patisserie or an equivalent qualification; alternatively, relevant industry experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant pastry cooking experience.
- Strong knowledge of pastry preparation, baking techniques, and dessert production.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills. Understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.

- Hours: Minimum 38 hours per week
- Salary - $75,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation
