You’re agile, keen and open to meaningful work and opportunities that come your way.
You’re called upon to help decision makers identify the options that best match their objectives. This is your opportunity to deliver exceptional services to the people of NSW, create innovative solutions, and foster strong partnerships.
In this role, you'll:
Identify and shape opportunities: Actively engage with the business to uncover, evaluate and optimise commercial and revenue opportunities across Transport’s network.
Partner with the business: Collaborate across finance, legal, operations, commercial and delivery teams to identify untapped opportunities and navigate a large stakeholder landscape.
Develop business cases: Build robust financial models, scenario analyses and commercial frameworks for executive and leadership forums.
Shape the story: Develop executive-ready narratives, board papers and presentations that clearly communicate the opportunity, options, risks, trade-offs and recommended path forward.
Provide strategic advice: Translate complex financial and commercial analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for non-financial stakeholders.
Drive workstreams: Define ambiguous commercial problems, structure analytical approaches and work alongside stakeholders to move recommendations toward implementation.
Build the function: Help shape the processes, tools, standards and focus areas of this newly formed commercial strategy capability from its early stages.

About you
You are a structured problem-solver with strong commercial judgement, analytical rigour and the ability to turn complex information into clear recommendations. You are comfortable working through ambiguity, building relationships across a large organisation and creating structure where there is no pre-defined playbook.
Professional experience: 3-7 years’ experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, infrastructure advisory, commercial advisory, commercial finance, business cases or a dedicated internal strategy function.
Consulting toolkit: Strong problem structuring, hypothesis-led analysis, executive storytelling and the ability to create clear, persuasive decision materials.
Financial and analytical rigour: Strong financial modelling capability and experience assessing commercial opportunities, business cases, scenarios, risks and trade-offs.
Stakeholder and communication skills: The ability to navigate a complex organisation, build trusted relationships, gather insights and communicate financial and commercial concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
Mindset: You are proactive, intellectually curious, resilient and collaborative. Prior transport sector experience is not required; we value the ability to learn quickly, exercise sound judgement and deliver evidence-based recommendations.
