About MIHELP
MIHELP (Montessori In Home Early Learning Professionals) is an approved In Home Care (IHC) provider supporting families who require flexible, home-based education and care. We work with educators who are reliable, child-focused, professional and able to travel to family homes and community settings to deliver care in line with family needs and service requirements.
The role
We're a Helensburgh family looking for a warm, dependable educator to support our son, after school three afternoons a week. He needs a consistent routine, and the chance to build a real relationship over time.
Our son is in Year 5 and is a curious, imaginative kid. He's big on Lego, action figures, and dressing up and role-playing, and he'll happily disappear into a fact-packed book about dogs, Lego or Marvel and DC. He loves dogs, and enjoys time on his iPad too. A good afternoon for him looks like a bit of downtime to decompress after school, some time doing an activity he loves , and an educator who's genuinely up for joining in with what he's into, whether that's building something, reading together or playing along with a bit of make-believe.
Kallen has some additional needs and does best with an educator who is patient, consistent and calm. We're happy to share more at the shortlist stage.
The right person is genuinely engaged, not just supervising. If you like the idea of being a steady, positive presence for one child rather than managing a group, this could be a great fit.
Schedule
- Monday: 3:00pm – 6:00pm — family home, Helensburgh
- Tuesday: 3:00pm – 6:00pm — family home, Helensburgh
- Wednesday: 3:00pm – 6:00pm — community activity in Caringbah
Approximately 9 hours per week. The Wednesday session is a supported group activity in Caringbah, so you'd be supporting him to take part and engage rather than delivering care solo at home — a nice change of pace and setting.
