Telehealth General Practitioner (VR GP) – Weight, Metabolic & Hormone Health
Blackwell Clinic is seeking an AHPRA-registered VR GP for flexible, fully remote private telehealth work across Australia.
We are preparing for an August 2026 launch, with patients already joining our early waitlist. This foundation-clinician role may suit a GP seeking additional consulting hours while helping shape a new Australian telehealth service from launch.
Clinical focus

Remuneration and hours
- $110 per initial consultation
- $60 per follow-up consultation
- Approximately $220–$240 per fully booked clinical hour, depending on appointment mix
- Independent contractor arrangement
- Paid fortnightly
- Initially approximately 2–6 hours per week
- Flexible sessions with scope to increase as demand grows
Patient volume and hourly earnings are not guaranteed during the launch period.
The role
- Conduct comprehensive video consultations
- Review structured pre-consult patient assessments
- Assess history, symptoms, pathology and clinical suitability
- Develop and monitor individualised management plans
- Order and review pathology where clinically appropriate
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Refer for in-person or specialist care when required
- Contribute feedback on clinical workflows and patient pathways

Requirements
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration
- Vocational Registration as a GP
- FRACGP or FACRRM
- Able to practise independently without supervision
- Professional indemnity insurance covering telehealth
- Based in Australia with unrestricted working rights
- Strong clinical judgement and documentation standards
Experience in telehealth, medical weight management, metabolic health, hormone replacement therapy, menopause care or preventative medicine would be advantageous.
Familiarity with relevant evidence-based peptide therapies, compounded medicines and Cliniko would also be advantageous. Structured orientation material can be provided, although all clinical decisions remain subject to the doctor’s independent judgement, competence and scope of practice.
Blackwell Clinic is assessment-first and clinician-led. There are no product-sales requirements, prescribing quotas or expectations that any particular treatment will be prescribed.
For the right long-term candidate, there may be scope to progress into a broader clinical leadership role, with a separately agreed profit-share or modest equity pathway considered after fit and contribution are established.
