About the Team
The Social Work and Welfare Department at CHQ is a dedicated, multidisciplinary team committed to supporting the psychosocial well-being of children, young people, and their families. Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, our department provides compassionate, trauma-informed, person-centred care across various clinical settings, including Acute, Medical, Oncology, Child Protection, CHQ at Home, and Post-Trauma services.
About the Role
In this role you will coach and support others to deliver for children, young people and families (Leader of Others) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:
Clinical Practice
Deliver high-level social work services within the medical / oncology stream (renal, general medicine, metabolic, oncology, endocrinology and respiratory) in an acute hospital, rehabilitation and community setting in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, with minimal direct clinical supervision.
Apply high level practice skills and knowledge to support complex clinical decision making, continuum of care, high standards of care and optimal clinical outcomes for patients.
Communication / Team Participation
Provide consultation advice and advocacy on behalf of the child and family to hospital staff, other social workers and community agencies as appropriate.
