In this role, you'll:
Join the team responsible for maintaining one of Australia's most iconic landmarks, the Sydney Harbour Bridge. This is an exciting opportunity to work on one of the country's most recognised and respected pieces of infrastructure while contributing to its ongoing preservation and safety.
As a Painter Grade 1, you'll play a key role in preserving and protecting critical transport infrastructure through the safe application of industrial protective coatings and painting solutions. Working on a range of surfaces including steel and timber, you'll contribute to the delivery of high-quality maintenance outcomes while ensuring safety, compliance and operational excellence.
Your role will also include:
- Apply industrial protective coatings to steel, timber and other surfaces in line with quality and safety standards
- Carry out painting, preparation, labouring and maintenance activities using a range of tools, plant and equipment.
- Conduct plant safety checks, basic maintenance and record keeping to support safe operations.

About you
You are a qualified painter with experience in painting, decorating, industrial coatings or a related trade environment. You have a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship and environmental compliance, and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team to achieve shared goals. You communicate effectively, support and mentor less experienced team members, and take a proactive approach to problem-solving. With strong literacy and numeracy skills, you are comfortable maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Essential requirements also includes:
- Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or equivalent and relevant experience that meets licencing requirements
- Current Construction Industry White Card
- Current unrestricted NSW motor vehicle driver's license
- Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed.
There will be opportunities for further training and career development. This is a permanent full time position, working a 38-hour week, 9-day fortnight and you may be required to work outside regular working hours occasionally.
The salary for this position is Painter Grade 1 ($1,487.00 per week plus super)
Further to basic salary other allowances will be paid to this position which includes:
Sydney Harbour Bridge allowance $271.60 per week ($14,123 per year)
Lead paint removal allowance $3.22 per hour (when you perform relevant tasks)
