Description:
The overall purpose of this role is to lead and manage the provision of student health services. This role is highly collaborative and works across all campuses to and oversees the work of the clinics and counselling services.
Key Accountabilities
MTSS Health Framework: Establishment and implementation of clear and proactive health (physical and mental) that identify and support student needs before they escalate to crisis point.
Departmental Leadership: Delivery and management of a multidisciplinary student health team including the clinic and counselling services.
Clinical and Therapeutic Standards: Oversight of all policies, practices and standards related to the clinical and therapeutic care of students, ensuring that they meet legislative and compliance standards
Operational Effectiveness: Ensuring the needs of all students are met in an equitable way. Utilising systems of technology to streamline and support care services regardless of campus location.
Stakeholder Trust: Build and maintain high levels of parent and student satisfaction with student support services, characterised by proactive communication and collaborative individual planning.
Major Areas of Responsibilities
Multidisciplinary Leadership: Direct line management of clinic and counselling services, fostering a culture of collaborative practice
Data and Reporting: Ensuring accurate storage of all student health information, and analysis of health data to identify trends and inform preventative programs
Campus Collaboration: Working highly collaboratively across all campuses to support, lead and work with campus heads and other key leaders across the school such as Boarding Housemasters.
Skills
Clinical/Therapeutic Oversight: Proven ability to provide high-level operational team leadership on both physical health protocols and mental health interventions. Ability to bridge gaps between departments, and medical and educational models of care.
Systems Thinking: Ability to design and manage complex workflows that are collaborative and student-centric across a large multi-campus school.
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills for reporting, and working across parent, staff and student stakeholder groups. Specific ability to translate complex health information for non-specialist staff.
Management & Administration: Strong skills in resource allocation, roster management and budget oversight. Highly organised and proactive
Skills and Experiences:
Knowledge
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of student health management within a multi-tiered framework. They will have specific knowledge relating to the professional provision of health services in a school setting and a skilled practitioner in the management of and delivery of health services to boys.
Essential Requirements
Experience: Significant experience in health management, with a professional background in nursing, educational psychology, counselling or social work
Education: Relevant tertiary level qualifications.
Clearances: Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check.
The scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands and involvement in additional projects as required is also an expectation.
