About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role partners closely with senior stakeholders across the business and supports the Senior Business Manager in delivering accurate financial reporting, forecasting, audit management and accounting compliance across a portfolio of businesses.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on finance professional who combines strong technical accounting expertise with commercial acumen and analytical capability. You will play a key role in driving financial performance, improving processes and providing insights that support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Take ownership of the monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reporting for the assigned portfolio, including preparation of commentary and analysis.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting processes, reconciliations and financial disclosures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Prepare and review BAS and other statutory reporting obligations across the ANZ portfolio.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial reporting processes.
- Lead and support internal and external audit activities.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across accounting and reporting functions.
- Mentor and guide finance team members, including offshore team resources, to ensure timely delivery of key accounting activities.
Financial Analysis & Business Partnering
- Analyse business performance and identify key revenue and cost drivers.
- Investigate and explain variances between actual results, budgets and forecasts.
- Support the preparation of management reporting and quarterly forecasting activities.
- Develop financial models and provide commercial insights to support business initiatives and strategic decision-making.
- Partner with portfolio leadership to evaluate financial performance and growth opportunities.
- Provide analysis and advice on revenue recognition and financial implications of business activities in accordance with IFRS 15 requirements.
- Support mergers and acquisitions activities, including due diligence, financial analysis and reporting.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- CA or CPA qualification.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial finance, financial accounting or financial analyst role.
- Experience within a Big 4 accounting firm highly regarded.
- Experience in the Radiology and Pathology information technology industry.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including financial reporting, consolidations, management accounting and audit processes.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret financial data and translate insights into practical business recommendations.
- Experience working within an ASX-listed or similarly complex corporate environment is highly desirable.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP systems.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence engaging senior leaders.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and drive outcomes.
Pay: $85,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
