About the role
This role reports to the Site Coordinator of Patient Food Services and works together with over 50 staff. The purpose of this role is to manage, on a daily basis, all general Patient Food Service kitchen and Ward duties, and ensure a safe, timely and professional meal service is provided to all patients at STARS.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
safely, effectively and efficiently to meet relevant standards, food safety, workplace health and safety, risk management and current legislative obligations.
Manage and participate in the delivery of in-service training as required ensuring compliance with all mandatory training requirements of reporting staff are met.
Monitor staff levels and skill mix to ensure appropriate shift coverage is maintained.
Comply with the STARS Food Safety Plan ensuring food safety, quality and personal hygiene are maintained at all times. Report any food safety hazards or issues to the Site Coordinator/ Manager.
