About the Role
As the Production Supervisor, you will oversee the assembly and electrical wiring of switchboards within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will ensure production schedules are achieved while maintaining compliance with drawings, SOPs, quality requirements, and workplace safety standards.
You will play a key role in coordinating workflow, improving manufacturing efficiency, and maintaining strong workmanship standards across the production floor.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Supervision
- Supervise daily operations of electrical switchboard assembly, sub-assembly, and electrical wiring teams.
- Allocate work and monitor productivity to ensure production targets and delivery schedules are achieved.
- Ensure all switchboards are assembled and wired according to drawings, specifications, and approved procedures.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and quality teams to support smooth manufacturing operations.
- Monitor workflow, labour utilisation, and production efficiency.
- Maintain accurate production and manufacturing records.
Quality & Workmanship
- Ensure all assemblies and electrical wiring meet required workmanship and quality standards.
- Identify production or quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and maintain workplace health and safety standards.
- Ensure safe handling of electrical components, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised production environment.
Training & Apprentice Development
- Train employees and apprentices on assembly procedures, electrical wiring practices, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide mentoring and guidance to apprentices and team members.
- Monitor apprentice competency progression, workmanship quality, attendance, and safety compliance.
- Encourage continuous learning and skills development within the team.
Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical switchboard manufacturing and electrical wiring.
- Previous experience supervising production or assembly teams.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of workplace health & safety and quality standards.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
