About the Role
We are seeking a HVAC / Refrigeration Service Technician to join our Service team.
Working across a portfolio of commercial and industrial sites, you will be responsible for the maintenance, fault finding, repair and installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems while delivering exceptional service to our clients.
This is a field based role suited to a motivated technician who enjoys problem solving, building client relationships and working with a wide range of mechanical services equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to mechanical plant and equipment.
- Service, maintain and repair:
- Air Handling Units (AHUs);
- Fan Coil Units (FCUs);
- Split and VRF systems;
- Chillers and refrigeration equipment;
- Pumps, valves and pipework;
- Dampers, ductwork and ventilation systems.
- Building Management System (BMS) connected equipment.
- Carry out plant upgrades, refurbishments and minor installations.
- Develop and implement equipment shutdown and isolation procedures where required.
- Complete service reports, maintenance documentation and safety paperwork.
- Liaise directly with customers and provide technical advice on equipment performance and maintenance requirements.
- Identify opportunities for plant optimisation, upgrades and energy efficiency improvements.
- Procure materials and coordinate suppliers to ensure works are completed efficiently.
- Maintain compliance with all WHS, environmental and statutory requirements.
- Support and mentor apprentices through on the job training and technical guidance.
- Participate in an on call roster where applicable.
About you
- A can do, proactive mindset.
- Trade qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
- Current Refrigerant Handling Licence (ARCtick).
- Current Driver's Licence.
- 3 years' + experience in a commercial HVAC and refrigeration service environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working on a range of commercial mechanical services equipment.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Intermediate computer skills and experience using service management systems.
Applications from technicians with residential or domestic HVAC and refrigeration experience are encouraged. While commercial building services experience is highly regarded, we are happy to consider candidates whose domestic experience is closely aligned and who are looking to transition into a commercial environment. Training and support will be provided to help successful candidates develop their commercial building services expertise.
