To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
Play a key role within Asset Accounting team as Finance Advisor - Road Asset Accounting, focusing on the Road Infrastructure assets by ensuring the integrity and completeness of records for the department's infrastructure and operational assets.
Support the analysis of data within the fixed asset register to improve the accuracy of key inputs in the valuation process, particularly in relation to infrastructure valuation (e.g. useful life, unit rates, and the apportionment of projects to complex asset components).
Contribute to the development and administration of relevant policies, processes, and procedures relating to asset accounting and financial reporting, and ensure these contribute to the strategic management of the Department's infrastructure and operational assets.
Undertake continuous review of policies, practices and procedures to identify business improvement opportunities, and ensure appropriate re-engineering and digitisation of work practices to bring about greater efficiencies.
Contribute to ensure that assets and related financial transactions are reported accurately in the financial statements in accordance with the relevant Australian Accounting Standards, statutory obligations, and Queensland Government reporting requirements.
Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to provide reporting information, coordination, and advice on infrastructure and operational asset accounting.
