Details: The Education Directorate is delivering a major reform of public education, bringing schools together as one coordinated system with consistent evidence-based practices, stronger equity and financial sustainability. We are standing up a new team and new roles to help us deliver meaningful change for children and young people in public schools.
We are seeking experienced policy and project officers to help us see this change through. We need people who can work effectively in a government environment, who think critically, and who contribute positively to a team.
Senior Policy/Project Officer roles are available in multiple teams and may work flexibly to support projects across the branch and Directorate. If you are a problem-solver, a collaborative team member, a good communicator and a motivated operator, these might be the roles for you.
The Strategic Policy branch is also hiring to similar roles at the Assistant Director level (SOGC) level. Applicants who would also be interested in roles at that level may wish to apply for both.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill similar vacancies over the next 12 months.

The position involves hybrid work arrangements between 220 London Circuit and remote. Individual work arrangements can be negotiated with the Executive Branch Manager aligned with team need.
The Education Directorate is undertaking an organisation design program and changes to Directorate structures may occur after this role commences. Candidates should be prepared to work across the entire organisation in the event of structural changes.
