Amanda Parer is an internationally recognised Australian artist whose practice encompasses the creation and presentation of large-scale public artworks and installations.
Her work has been exhibited in more than 100 cities around the world, engaging audiences and attracting significant public and media attention. Behind each installation is a dynamic creative and production process involving artists, fabricators, production companies, engineers, lighting and digital designers, technicians and event partners across Australia and internationally.
The Amanda Parer Studio, based in Launceston, Tasmania, manages this process from the development and production of artworks through to their presentation at exhibitions and events around the world.

About the Role
We are looking for a passionate, capable and highly organised Studio Assistant to work closely with artist Amanda Parer and the wider creative team.
This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys being involved in many different aspects of a creative business. You will become an important part of the day-to-day running of the studio — helping keep projects moving, coordinating with people around the world and assisting with everything from artwork production and logistics to administration, marketing and promotion.
The successful applicant will be someone who is proactive, resourceful and adaptable, with a genuine willingness to learn. No two days are likely to be the same, and the role will suit someone who enjoys taking initiative, solving problems and getting things done.
The position can be undertaken remotely and/or in-house in Launceston, depending on the successful applicant and the requirements of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with Amanda, responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with the planning and progress of artworks for international and Australian exhibitions and events.
- Coordinating with clients, event organisers and production partners across production and marketing requirements.
- Managing artwork and studio inventory.
- Assisting with domestic and international logistics, freight and deliveries.
- Assisting with quotations, contracts and other project documentation.
- Preparing travel itineraries and arrangements for technicians and production teams.
- Liaising with production companies, suppliers, technicians and other stakeholders as required.
- Assisting with the development and updating of artwork display and technical manuals.
- Working with Amanda to create visuals and presentations for clients, events and promotional purposes.
- Updating the studio website as required.
- Assisting with social media content, newsletters and other promotional activities.
- Assisting with the delivery and management of merchandise and stock.
- Providing general administrative and organisational support to the studio.
- Taking on other tasks and projects as reasonably requested by the Artist.
About You

- Detail-oriented, with the ability to see a project through from beginning to end.
- Comfortable working with international clients, suppliers and production partners.
- Interested in art, design, creative production or the cultural sector.
Essential Skills
- Strong computer literacy.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Experience in an arts, design, events, production, administration or creative studio environment would be highly regarded, but a great attitude, initiative and willingness to learn are just as important.
