We’re looking for an experienced Service Technician to join our Adelaide team in a field-based role.
This is a varied, hands-on position where you’ll be working across OCR systems, Rail and Aviation equipment. You will be providing field service, installation, maintenance, fault finding and technical support across customer sites throughout South Australia.
The role will include working with specialised OCR technology, including Gate OCR, Crane OCR and Rail OCR systems, as well as Freightquip’s broader range of Aviation Ground Support and Rail equipment.

Installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing specialised OCR, Rail and Aviation equipment.
Carrying out electrical installations, cabling and equipment deployment on customer sites.
Installing and supporting cameras, sensors and associated OCR equipment.
Testing, fault finding and commissioning equipment and systems.
Diagnosing electrical, mechanical and control system faults.
Completing preventative and scheduled maintenance.
Providing technical and product support to customers.
Working closely with Freightquip’s national technical and product support teams.
Completing service reports and maintaining accurate records of work performed.
Travelling to customer sites throughout Adelaide and South Australia as required.
We’re looking for someone who is practical, technically capable and comfortable working independently in the field.
Ideally, you will have:
A strong electrical or electromechanical background.
Relevant trade qualifications such as Electrician, Auto Electrician or a similar technical qualification.
Experience with electrical installations, cabling, fault finding and commissioning.
Previous field service experience within industrial, aviation, rail, port, automation or similar environments.
Experience with cameras, sensors, automation, controls or communications systems would be highly regarded.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
The ability to read and interpret electrical and technical documentation.
Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
A current Australian driver's licence.
The ability to work safely and independently across customer sites.
Highly regarded, but not essential:
Experience with PLCs, CANBus or electric drive systems
Hydraulic and/or Pneumatic fault-finding experience
Full-time permanent position based in Adelaide.
Company maintained vehicle provided.
