About the Role
We are building a reliable and flexible team of Family Support Workers to provide meaningful, localized support to families across metro and outer Sydney. This casual role offers a variety of shifts and is ideal for experienced support workers seeking flexible hours while making a genuine difference. Working 1-on-1 within the family home, your shifts will include a rewarding mix of practical, hands-on care. You will assist with daily routines like getting ready for school, cooking, and hygiene, as well as keeping kids safe during scheduled family visits and transporting them to appointments. You will also get to run fun activities with the kids, model positive routines for parents, and provide specialized support such as active overnights or newborn care (where any prior experience with babies is a huge plus).
About You
- The Right Experience: At least 12 months of experience working with kids, youth, or families in community services, disability support, or child services.
- Behaviour Support Skills: Comfort and experience in managing challenging behaviours with a calm, positive approach.
- Family & Disability Knowledge: A good understanding of child development, normal family routines, and how to support people living with mental health challenges or disabilities.
- Flexible availability for varied shifts
Qualifications & Checks:
- A Cert III or higher in Community Services, Individual Support, Child Care, Mental Health, Disability, or similar.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Ability to obtain a NDIS screening check
- Willingness to get a National Police Check.
- A current Driver’s Licence.
