Your key responsibilities:
Develop and update Queensland Health budget projection models and run scenarios to estimate/project the funding and health service impacts of different policy settings.
Develop and update projection models of National Health Reform funding and run scenarios to estimate/project the funding impacts of changes to funding models and policy settings.
Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic policy projects, including the development of Queensland Health's annual Budget submission and Budget papers.
Undertake analysis of trends in health expenditure, funding and longer-term drivers of health service demand; and identify opportunities for improving efficiency and effectiveness.
Role fit
The essential requirements for this role are:
High level experience in economic and financial modelling, preferably in the health sector.
High level skills in the use of statistical and modelling software packages and databases.
Strong public policy analysis particularly the ability to interpret strategic meaning.
Ability to work flexibly across teams to integrate technical and policy analysis.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise way.
