Reporting into the Field Service Team Leader - NSW & ACT, the new Field Service Engineer will be based in Sydney, NSW, whilst also supporting interstate customer needs as required. You will perform safety and performance testing, installation, maintenance, and repair of Draeger medical devices located predominantly at customer sites or within the workshop environment. You will leverage your training with and experience with ICU anaesthesia and ventilation devices.
Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Timely and effective response to break service requests;
- Preventative maintenance as per manufacturers testing and part replacement schedule;
- Installation of new devices and upgrades including basic operating instruction and orientation;
- Field corrective actions to remove product defects and reduce risk to patient health and safety;
- Customer support to ensure concerns and issues are addressed effectively and efficiently;
- Identify and communicate potential sales opportunities to the Sales team;
- Technical support and advice to Sales and Marketing teams to increase sales;
- Identify and report quality issues from the field to management and internal departments;
- Travel regularly to client sites in Sydney metro, wider NSW, and interstate as required;
- Apply a compliance focused mindset across all operations, and;
- Always ensure a safety-first approach.
The ideal candidate will be equipped with the following attributes:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (e.g. Biomedical, Electronics), or a related field;
- 3+ years’ proven experience in similar field servicing for biomedical devices;
- Trained and experienced with ICU Ventilators and Anaesthetic equipment maintenance and repair experience (highly advantageous);
- Desire and ability to quickly learn technical product information and service skills;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office Suite of applications;
- Adaptability and readiness to handle multiple, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn;
- Exemplary understanding of compliance rules and ability to act as a role model in upholding and promoting compliance standards, and;
- Excellent customer focus, stakeholder management, problem solving, interpersonal, communication, organisational, task management skills, and;
- Willingness to travel regularly to metro, regional, and interstate.
A Working With Children’s Check will be required for this position.
