Introduction:
Your New Role
As the Maintenance Fitter at Marand’s Geelong site, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and calibrating a range of advanced plant and CNC equipment to ensure maximum uptime, reliability and accuracy. Working across preventative, corrective and condition-based maintenance, you will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, carry out repairs, and complete precision recalibration following breakdowns or servicing.
You will also support equipment condition monitoring, manage spare parts and inventory requirements, and ensure all maintenance activities are accurately documented. This is a hands-on role where your work directly supports production efficiency, equipment performance and continuous improvement across the site.
Role Overview & Key Responsibilities:
Perform Maintenance, Repairs and Troubleshooting on various equipment to ensure ongoing reliability and minimal downtime.
Re-Calibration of equipment after repair to ensure it meets accuracy requirements.
Regular equipment condition assessments to ensure continuing uptime.
Parts Ordering, Critical Spares & Inventory Management.
Develop & Interpret repair and servicing documentation.
Complete service reports.
Complete parts requisition requests.
Advise stakeholders (supervisors & management) of repair / service status.
Ensure service / repair costs are kept within set targets.
Communication of improvement areas, budget constraints.
Participate and support Marand’s commitment to health, safety, and environment excellence, complying with Marand’s requirements and legislated obligations
Participate, as required from time to time, in health, safety and environment improvement activities.
Essential Experience:
CNC machinery service and maintenance experience.
Capabilities in undertaking equipment repairs and machinery calibration.
Understanding of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems for basic trouble shooting.
CNC Experience; Programming and Operation (Okuma, Siemens, Fanuc).
Ability to operate manual equipment including Lathes, Mills & Grinders.
Must have proven experience maintaining and/or servicing production CNC machinery.
