About the job
The Senior Mental Health Clinician will provide leadership, daily operational management support and supervision to Mental Health Clinicians. In addition, they will provide direct intake, assessment, care planning, referral, advice and consultation services to young people, their families/carers and community professionals/agencies.
Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager you will:
- Deliver comprehensive intake, assessment, referral and evidence-based interventions for young people and their families.
- Lead and support mental health clinicians through supervision, coordination and clinical guidance.
- Build strong partnerships with internal teams, community organisations and external service providers.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to quality improvement and clinical review activities.
- Promote early intervention, inclusion, community engagement and the headspace service model.
Our headspace sites operate after 5pm multiple times a week, availability to work across rotating shifts required.
Skills and experience
The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:
- Proven leadership experience, including clinical supervision and supporting multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience delivering youth mental health assessments, crisis intervention and evidence-based brief interventions.
- Strong knowledge of youth mental health, substance use, relevant legislation and early intervention best practice.
- Excellent decision-making, risk assessment, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills in complex clinical settings.
- Passion for improving youth outcomes, with experience in group programs, community engagement and service improvement.
