As a trusted advisor reporting to the Regional Finance Leader – South Australia and Northern Territory, you will play an important role in supporting financial initiatives and contributing to business performance across these regions.
As a Senior Finance Business Partner - South Australia and Northern Territory , you will collaborate closely with non-finance leaders to provide strategic analysis and commercial insights that guide key business decisions. You’ll proactively lead financial and management accounting initiatives, championing best practices, and fostering continuous improvement. You contribute to developing technical capability within the team, establishing robust cost reporting frameworks, and driving excellence in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Key to your success will be process improvement recommendations - streamlining processes and implementing efficient cost sharing methodologies. The role will also assist in the management of team members.
In this busy and varied role, you will be responsible for:
Driving optimal financial performance by partnering with the business
Providing trusted financial advice to key stakeholders to align business direction, financial strategies and utilising a variety of data sources to support sound decision making.
Analysis and review actual v budget expense accounts on the PL Statement
Provide support and assist Project Managers, Project Directors, Market Leaders and other key stakeholders as required, including assistance with pricing/ commercial analysis support for project proposals and major projects.
Ensure projects in the PM system are set up in accordance with the terms agreed with clients and accurately reflects the work breakdown structure, commercial terms and billing requirements.
Monthly analytical reviews of projects (Budgets, Revenue, Work in Progress (WIP), Accounts Receivables, Project variances) and engaging with Project Managers/ Directors and stakeholders for discussion to ensure optimal performance including accurate revenue recognition, submission of billings in a timely manner and payment of client invoices on time.
What you will bring to the team:
Bachelor's degree, accounting major, pursuing or completed CPA/CA qualification or equivalent.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Financial Accounting
Demonstrated experience in professional services, construction or a project environment.
Strong exposure in developing, analysing and reporting to Budgets and Forecasts.
Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, drive innovation and implement business solutions, with a track record of embracing change.
Proven ability to influence, manage and prioritise across diverse stakeholders.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, appropriate for effective leadership engagement.
Advanced skills in Excel and all Microsoft Office suite
Experience working on BST11, Power BI, TM1 desirable.
