We are looking for an experienced Human Resource Manager to lead and manage the organisation’s people and workplace relations function. This role is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that support business objectives, workforce capability, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, sound judgement, and the ability to balance operational delivery with strategic planning in a dynamic business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and continuously improve human resource strategies, policies, and frameworks aligned with organisational objectives
- Provide expert advice to senior leaders and managers on workforce planning, recruitment, and talent management practices
- Lead end-to-end recruitment and selection processes, ensuring fair, compliant, and effective hiring outcomes
- Design and oversee induction, learning, and development programmes to build workforce capability
- Implement and manage performance management frameworks to support individual and team effectiveness
- Manage employee relations matters, including disciplinary processes, grievances, and workplace investigations
- Represent the organisation in discussions and negotiations relating to employment conditions and workplace matters
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, workplace relations requirements, and internal governance standards
- Oversee occupational health and safety initiatives and promote a safe, inclusive, and compliant workplace
- Manage organisational change activities, including restructures, redundancy processes, and workforce transitions
- Monitor workforce metrics, employment costs, and productivity indicators to support informed decision-making
- Coach and support managers on best-practice people management and workplace relations approaches
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in a senior HR or people management role
- Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and workplace relations frameworks
- Proven ability to develop and implement HR policies, systems, and processes
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills
- Experience managing performance, employee relations, and organisational change
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical judgement
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field
- Membership with a recognised professional body (e.g. AHRI)
- Experience supporting multi-site or growing organisations
- Exposure to HR systems, workforce analytics, or HR transformation initiatives
