The Role
Reporting directly to the Group Safety, Wellbeing & Training Manager, you will lead our national injury management strategy. Managing a national caseload with a heavy focus on both physical and psychological injury recovery, you will act as the crucial "bridge" between our employees and the medical, operational, and legal worlds.
Key Responsibilities:
•
End-to-End Case Management: Take ownership of complex physical and psychological injury claims from initial lodgement with national bodies through to successful recovery and sustainable closure.
•
Psychosocial Care & Strategy: Drive early intervention strategies and manage psychological claims with a deep understanding of psychosocial risk factors.
•
Suitable Duties & Care: Proactively design, monitor, and adapt return-to-work plans that seamlessly balance medical capacity with practical operational needs.
•
Stakeholder Liaison: Partner closely with our on-site physios, treating doctors, insurers, and legal representatives to advocate for the best possible recovery outcomes.
•
Data, Insights & Investigation: Maintain a high-detail national claims register (Excel-based) and review site documentation to compile robust, defensible evidence for claim liability.
About You
You are a "hands-on" safety professional who genuinely cares about people but possesses the commercial resilience needed to manage the complex long-term claims. You are comfortable leaning in to support frontline supervisors where safety capability is still developing.
•
Experience: Proven track record in Injury Management, Workers' Compensation, or Occupational Rehabilitation.
•
Technical & Financial Savvy: A strong grasp of multi-jurisdictional workers' compensation legislation, intermediate Excel skills, and hands-on experience managing the processing of weekly wage calculations and reimbursements.
•
Communication & Empathy: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build trust, navigate language barriers, and connect with a diverse manufacturing workforce.
•
Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Rehab Management, Occupational Health, or a related clinical/health discipline.
