The Melbourne Arts Precinct Corporation (MAP Co) is the State Government agency responsible for overseeing the delivery of the Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation and provides governance and an operational structure to one of Melbourne's most iconic cultural spaces: Fed Square.
MAP Co leads the Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation, Australia's largest ever cultural infrastructure project, delivering The Fox: NGV Contemporary and the major rejuvenation of Arts Centre Melbourne (ACM), joined together by 18,000sqm of green public space.
It also takes on the management and operations of Fed Square and is responsible for connecting a single continuous art, civic, and cultural precinct stretching from Fed Square through Southbank.
Once the transformation is complete, MAP Co will also manage and activate Laak Boorndap, the 18,000 urban garden that will connect the Melbourne Arts Precinct in a seamless and immersive cultural experience.
Fed Square is the gateway to the art precinct - and as Melbourne's public square it is the civic, cultural and community heart of the city. It home to four of Victoria's major cultural institutions: ACMI - Australia's Museum of Screen Culture, the Koorie Heritage Trust (KHT), Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio (MESS) and The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia along with an array of restaurants and cafes. Located opposite the iconic Flinders St Station, it is Melbourne's premier meeting place, tourist destination and event venue for thousands of free events every year.

About the Role
The Senior Advisor will contribute to MAP Co client-lead functions across the Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation with a focus on MAPT South. This includes the new NGV Contemporary building, its integration with the Public Realm urban garden and the existing NGV International building, and precinct services works (primarily HVAC plant).
They will work collaboratively with other leaders within MAPT Client Lead team to ensure Development Victoria and all project partners have clear direction, issues are efficiently and effectively managed, and that MAP Co's interests across the MAPT project are well represented.
This role may work across different parts of the project at different times - from project-specific support to cross-program coordination support, in response to MAPT project needs that will ebb & flow across the delivery of the project until 2028.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- As part of the client delivery interface between MAP Co and project partners (Development Victoria, Arts Centre Melbourne, National Gallery of Victoria and Creative Victoria) and the broader project teams, work closely with MAP Co Senior Manager, MAPT South to review, revise and respond to current and future project delivery needs.
- Maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and provide relevant information and advice about any issues, identified risks and requirements to ensure appropriate information flow.
- Inform, advise, and work closely with the relevant MAP Co Senior Manager to manage current and emerging issues and provide research and advice on a range of issues.
- Prepare advice and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, including executive management, stakeholders, conveying project related concepts and information.
- Prepare executive, board and government briefings as well as reports, discussion papers, briefs and letters for a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and contribute to the response to emerging issues and project risks, exercise analytical and problem-solving skills and assist with pre-empting and mitigating project risks.

Key Selection Criteria
- Capital Project management: Experience working on significant capital works projects, preferably in the cultural sector, including understanding of a live operating environment overlay. Confidently explains complex issues across diverse subject matters to stakeholders; develops solutions based on evidence, assessment of options, knowledge, and consultation with interested parties; clearly defines objectives and action steps for achieving them; regularly communicates and supports project team members; ensures project objectives are met by anticipating and managing potential and emerging issues.
- Conceptual and Analytical Ability: Highly developed analytical, conceptual and research skills, including demonstrated ability to develop scenarios, strategies, and frameworks, and deliver innovative solutions to complex issues.

Desired Experience/Qualifications:
- A relevant qualification in the field of design or construction would be regarded.
- Demonstrated experience working on capital works projects, preferably in the cultural sector, including and understanding of construction in a live operational environment. o
