The Role
We have multiple opportunities that exists for experienced Boilermakers to join the Fixed Underground Assets team at George Fisher Mine in Mount Isa. Reporting to the Fixed Assets Supervisors, you will be required to carry out scheduled maintenance tasks, fabrication and project work, trouble shooting, as well as breakdown repairs. This role offers and excellent work-life balance with a residential roster, based in Mount Isa, working day shift only, 7 days on, 7 days off.. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Active participation in crew deployment meetings
Completed Work Orders to the required standard & re-order parts or consumables
Conformance with the Glencore Corporate Practice & Glencore Code of Conduct
Assist with updating of Schematics / SWI’s / Procedures / etc
Inspection of equipment for proper functioning & compliance
Performing planned and shutdown work consistent with the duties of a boilermaker
Supporting improvement projects that aim to reduce unplanned stoppages
Maintaining and improving OH&S and overall operational standards in the workplace.
The successful candidate will possess:
Trade qualified Boilermaker
5 years’ experience within the trade (preferred)
Experience on material handling (Crushing and conveying systems), hoisting and/or underground pump systems will be advantageous
High risk work licence, Working at Heights and Confined Space is an advantage
Overall Mechanical Aptitude, ability to carry out basic mechanical tasks
Excellent trouble-shooting & problem solving skills
Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail
Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
Good communication skills
Willingness and ability to learn new processes
Hold a current Australian Manual Drivers Licence
Experience in SAP would be an advantage or similar systems
