Bridgeway Concepts offers innovative civil, electrical and telecommunications solutions across South Australia and Victoria. We are seeking a skilled and qualified Telecommunications Technical Officer to join our team in South Australia on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, repair and diagnose faults in microwave, telemetry, multiplexing, satellite, radio and other electromagnetic wave communication systems.
- Configure and integrate telecommunications and network technologies with computer software, hardware, desktops, peripherals, databases and operating systems.
- Provide technical advice and monitor the performance of complex telecommunications networks and equipment.
- Provide ongoing operational support in designing, optimising, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and resolving telecommunications network faults and performance issues.
- Plan and support the development of customer access telecommunications network infrastructure.
- Test and evaluate new and existing telecommunications systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Implement appropriate security measures to protect telecommunications networks from cyber threats.
- Develop and maintain detailed records and logs relating to inventories, parts, equipment and instruments.
- Maintain documentation relating to communication policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations and quality standards.
- Liaise with vendors, suppliers, service providers and external resources.
- Monitor contractual obligations and performance delivery.
- Train staff in the proper use and maintenance of telecommunications equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to support the successful delivery of telecommunications projects.
- Keep up to date with developments in telecommunications technology and industry standards.
Essential Requirements
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma or higher in Telecommunications or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in a professional telecommunications environment.
- Demonstrated experience in the installation, configuration, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of telecommunications systems.
- Familiarity with automation and scripting languages, including Python and PowerShell, for network configuration and monitoring.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to conduct on-site technical analysis and resolve complex technical problems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Experience maintaining detailed technical records, equipment inventories, logs and telecommunications documentation.
- Ability to effectively liaise with vendors, suppliers, service providers and external resources and monitor contractual obligations and performance delivery.
