About The Opportunity
We’re excited to offer multiple opportunities for passionate Food Services Assistants to join our Fronditha Care team at Templestowe, Thornbury, Clayton, St Albans and Newcastle facilities. In this hands-on role, you’ll help prepare and serve nutritious, well-presented meals that celebrate our residents’ cultural traditions and create a warm, homelike dining experience every day.
The day-to-day responsibilities
- Assist in preparing, storing, and serving meals according to residents' dietary needs and the food safety plan.
- Ensure meals meet nutritional and cultural preferences of residents.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and comply with food safety regulations.
- Set and arrange tables and chairs as per procedures.
- Wash dishes, clean workbenches and maintain a tidy kitchen and dining area.
- Assist with cleaning duties across the facility as required.
- Report any faulty kitchen equipment and maintain compliance with safety standards.
- Oversee documentation related to food safety, meals records and stock levels.
- Participate in Fronditha Care's continuous improvement processes to enhance service quality.
What success looks like for this role
- Food handling certificate is essential but not limited to.
- Cert III in Commercial Cookery but not limited to.
- Previous experience with food handling and cleaning.
- Must have exposure to the IDDSI framework
- Proven skills around infection control and safe food handling.
- Proficiency in communication and teamwork.
