ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently recruiting for experienced Excavator Operators to join our team to support the Mitchell Freeway Concrete Barriers Upgrade. This will include the removal of existing barriers and replacement with new concrete barriers on the Mitchell Freeway between Ocean Reef Road and Hester Avenue. Work scope includes associated pavement works, services protection, and required significant rail safety management.
As Excavator Operators, you will be reporting to the Civil Supervisor and you will operate excavators safely and efficiently, carry out excavation, earthworks, material handling, and site preparation activities to support freeway concrete barrier upgrades.
Other key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Excavator for drainage works
- Excavation for drainage and other services to level
- Carry out precise trimming, drainage works and rehab shaping
- Digging precise trenches to required grade
- Excavating and cleaning drainage channels/culverts
- Working near existing services
- Detailed earth moving
- Operating attachments such as hydraulic breakers whilst adhering to site safety
Hydraulic Excavator Operator (16-20 tonne):
- Clearing sites, trenching
- Detailed earth moving
- Operating attachments such as hydraulic breakers and grading buckets whilst adhering to site safety
To be successful, you will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- RIIMPO320F (Conduct civil construction excavator operations)
- White Card
- HR Driver’s License
- Experience operating final trim excavators and strong understanding of final trim standards
- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
- MUST hold valid Australian Working Rights
