Tokyo Bird is a Japanese-inspired cocktail and whisky bar in Surry Hills, known for our creative cocktails, yakitori, and one of Sydney’s best Japanese whisky selections.
We’re looking for a reliable, energetic Barback/Bartender to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who wants to learn the ropes of a busy cocktail bar, support the bartenders on shift, and grow their skills behind the bar.
Duties include:
- Assisting bartenders with preparation and service
- Stocking and restocking the bar during service
- Polishing and preparing glassware
- Collecting and washing barware
- Garnish and ingredient prep
- Running drinks to tables when required
- Keeping the bar clean, organised, and service-ready
- Supporting with closing and pack-down duties
Required:
- Current RSA
- Availability Friday & Saturday nights (required)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Positive attitude and teamwork focus
Who we’re looking for:
- Previous bar, barback, or hospitality experience (1+ year preferred, but training provided)
- Someone proactive who can anticipate the needs of the bar team
- Keen interest in cocktails, whisky, and Japanese hospitality
- Reliable, motivated, and ready to grow with us
