Introduction:
ACEREZ is a consortium, comprised of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy which has been appointed Preferred Network Operator by EnergyCo to design, deliver, operate and maintain the transmission line network for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ).
The new electricity transmission infrastructure, which will combine high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and related infrastructure, will enable generators such as solar and wind farms and energy storage providers in the CWO REZ to connect to the electricity grid, providing a reliable supply of clean, affordable electricity for households and businesses across NSW while helping to meet the state’s newly legislated Net Zero targets.

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing the commercial strategy, contract management, financial performance, and overall commercial operations within ACEREZ (Network Operator). This individual will play a critical role in driving contract compliance, managing key client relationships, and mitigating risks. This position requires a blend of commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and leadership abilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead development and delivery of commercial strategy, identifying growth opportunities and risks.

Align commercial objectives with organisational goals through collaboration with senior leadership.
•
Negotiate complex commercial matters with clients, suppliers, generators, and partners.
•
Ensure contract compliance, manage renewals, and oversee changes, claims, and dispute mitigation.
•
Support commercial budgeting and provide guidance to teams on managing contractor and client issues.
•
Identify and mitigate commercial, financial, legal, and operational risks, including developing contingency plans.
•
Monitor project performance to ensure financial stability and early issue detection.
•
Build strong relationships with key clients, partners, and suppliers; act as primary commercial contact.
•
Coordinate with internal teams to support project delivery and sponsor satisfaction.
•
Lead and mentor junior staff, driving team performance and supporting business development opportunities.
•
Ensure commercial activities comply with legal, regulatory, and governance requirements.
•
Implement and uphold company policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
Skills and Experiences:
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, Economics, or Construction Management (or related field).
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial management, contract management, or a related role.
- Proven experience in leading large-scale contracts and commercial negotiations.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
