About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in petrol and diesel vehicles.
- Inspecting, dismantling, repairing and replacing engines, transmissions, steering, suspension and braking components.
- Performing scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, oil changes and engine tune-ups.
- Using computerised diagnostic equipment and manufacturer service manuals to identify faults.
- Reassembling and testing repaired vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Carrying out vehicle inspections and identifying repairs required to maintain roadworthy standards.
- Maintaining accurate workshop records and complying with workplace health and safety requirements.
Skills and Experience Required
Applicants should have:
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent) or at least three years of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Experience servicing and repairing petrol and diesel vehicles.
- Knowledge of engine, transmission, steering, suspension and braking systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to producing high-quality workmanship and maintaining workplace safety standards.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
