Sydney Creative is looking for a passionate and versatile Creative Workshop Instructor to join our team.
This is a teaching and facilitation role, not simply a crafting role. You will spend much of your time standing in front of groups, leading workshops, engaging customers, creating a fun atmosphere and ensuring sessions run smoothly and on time.
We are seeking someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, has confidence speaking to groups and can create an experience that customers will remember.
Our studio offers a range of workshops including candle making, soap making, paint & sip, polymer clay, jesmonite, silversmithing, sewing and more. Full training is provided.
The studio is generally open in the evenings Monday-Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. Please ensure evening and weekend work suit your lifestyle before applying.
About the Role
As a Creative Workshop Instructor, you'll be responsible for leading fun, engaging and hands-on workshops that leave participants inspired and excited.
You'll guide groups through the creative process, helping them learn new skills in a friendly and welcoming environment while ensuring classes run smoothly, safely and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Run a variety of creative workshops with energy, enthusiasm and patience
- Confidently stand in front of groups and facilitate engaging workshops for a range of class sizes, from small public sessions to larger private and corporate events
- Introduce classes, explain activities and guide participants through projects
- Public speaking is a large part of this role. You will regularly stand in front of groups of varying sizes, introducing classes, explaining activities, managing group dynamics and guiding participants throughout the session. The ability to confidently project your voice and hold a room's attention is essential.
- Be open to training across a variety of workshops including Candle Making, Soap Making, Textured Painting, Polymer Clay, Jesmonite, Silversmithing and more
- Run private events including hens parties, birthdays and corporate team-building events
- Run occasional mobile workshops at client locations
- Build rapport with participants and create a welcoming atmosphere
- Support participants of all skill levels
- Prepare materials and set up the studio prior to classes
- Assist with stock management
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional workspace
- Assist with pack down and resetting the studio between sessions
About You
- Creative and hands-on, with a genuine interest in arts, crafts and making
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups and leading activities
- Confident, personable and able to hold your own when leading groups of people
- Comfortable taking charge of a room and confidently managing group dynamics, including enforcing studio policies and handling challenging situations professionally when required
- Organised, punctual and reliable
- Willing to work evenings and weekends
- Happy appearing in photos and videos for social media
- Comfortable facilitating hens parties and private events
- Proactive and able to identify what needs doing without being asked. Comfortable working independently and using sound judgement to solve problems as they arise
- A team player who is open to learning and contributing to a small business environment

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
