Cook / Early Childhood Educator

We are looking for a caring, organised and enthusiastic Cook / Early Childhood Educator to join our early learning centre.
This is a unique combined role for someone who enjoys preparing nutritious meals for children while also being part of their learning, development and day-to-day experiences within the centre.
About the Role
As our Cook / Educator, you will be responsible for preparing fresh, nutritious and age-appropriate meals and snacks for the children in our care. You will work closely with the centre team to accommodate allergies, dietary requirements and individual needs while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
When not completing kitchen duties, you will support our educators within the learning environment, building positive relationships with children and contributing to a warm, safe and engaging centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children
- Cater for allergies, intolerances and individual dietary requirements
- Maintain a clean, organised and compliant kitchen
- Follow food safety, hygiene and safe food-handling practices
- Manage kitchen supplies, stock rotation and food ordering
- Work collaboratively with educators and centre leadership
- Assist within the rooms and support children's learning and development as required
- Build warm and respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Contribute to a positive, welcoming and supportive centre environment
About You

- Enjoys cooking and has a genuine passion for working with children
- Is reliable, organised and able to manage their time effectively
- Understands the importance of nutrition and healthy eating in the early years
- Has strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Is comfortable catering for allergies and special dietary requirements
- Is warm, approachable and works well as part of a team
- Holds, or is willing to obtain, the relevant checks and certifications required for the role
- Holds an Early Childhood Education and Care qualification, or is willing to work towards one, where required

Pay: $26.45 – $43.12 per hour
