An opportunity exists for a suitable candidate to join the Pharmacy service at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital as a Pharmacy Technician.
About the Role
Royal Prince Alfred Hospital provides a comprehensive range of clinical services to residents of the Sydney Local Health District and has specialised areas of practice in liver, renal and bone marrow transplant, Melanoma therapy, Haematology, Cardiology and Mental Health. The pharmacy department also provides clinical trials, outpatients and production unit services.
This role sits under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Pharmacy, and is rotational between medication distribution responsibilities, dispensary rotations and manufacturing within the department. There is also potential for rotations to Balmain Hospital. The position is open to pharmacy assistants through to Pharmacy technicians up to grade 2 depending on prior experience. Professional development of our staff is encouraged and supported with training for manufacturing skills provided in-house.

Ideal Candidate
Completion of a Certificate III (or willing to undertake) or Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Pharmacy Support or relevant qualifications deemed by the Health Administration Corporation to be equivalent; competency in dispensing, non-sterile production and ward distribution; and ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations (Technician Grades only).

Recent relevant pharmacy experience, with proven experience using pharmacy computer systems.
