The opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia is looking to recruit an experienced and high performing technical quality specialist to support the E-7A Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) International Technical Publications Programs in Brisbane.
Responsibilities
Quality specialist responsibilities will include:
- Training and mentoring new or less experienced technical writers in all facets of the program, work scope and processes
- Clearly communicate information and ideas to individuals or groups to engage the audience and help them understand and retain new information.
- Development and review of critical and routine technical publication revision tasks for the customer
- Working closely with SME's, Coordinators and Execution Leads to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks to achieve project revision deliveries.
- Conducting quality and in process reviews and validation of technical publications.
- Support adherence to technical publication project standards and specifications
- Conduct initial review of draft documents to verify all required changes have been included and conform to established style and format guidelines. Ensure products and services that meet the highest technical and quality standards.
- Advanced knowledge of design concepts and techniques.
Desirable Experience/Qualifications
- AEW&C technical writer experience
- Experience with acquisition programs will be highly regarded
- Experience in the development of technical publications for all levels of operations and maintenance for a new or fielded major equipment system
- XML or SGML experience essential
- Experience in authoring technical publications
- The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables
- Eligibility for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance
