About Us
KC Bar & Grill is a well-established restaurant and bar located in the heart of Airlie Beach. We are committed to providing high-quality food and exceptional customer service in a fast-paced hospitality environment. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes, preparation methods and presentation standards.
- Prepare ingredients for service, including washing, peeling, cutting, portioning and storing food items.
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment and cooking appliances safely and efficiently.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards in accordance with company policies and relevant legislation.
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation throughout food preparation and service.
- Maintain clean, organised and hygienic kitchen workstations, equipment and food preparation areas.
- Assist with stock rotation, storage and the safe handling of deliveries and food supplies.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
- Assist in preparing meals to meet dietary requirements where required.
- Perform other reasonable kitchen-related duties as directed by management.

- Ensure kitchen areas remain clean, organised and compliant with food safety standards.

- Report any food safety, maintenance or quality concerns to management promptly.
Qualifications
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 1 year of previous experience working in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Experience using commercial kitchen equipment and food preparation tools.
- Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality standards.
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions and kitchen procedures consistently.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
