The Formwork Carpenter is responsible for the construction, erection, installation and repair of
structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, wallboard and other materials.
Tasks & duties:
Site safety, plant, and power tool safety;
Study specifications in blueprint, sketches site conditions to prepare project layout and
determine dimensions and materials required;
Concrete formwork, build moulds to retain wet concrete;
Manual lifting & handling;
Measure, cut, nail and shape materials such as wood, drywall or fiberglass
Erect framework;
Lay building foundations;
Box up and strip decks, stairs, and columns;
Assemble and fasten materials to make framework or props, using hand tools and wood
screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue;
Install structures and move into position;
Erect scaffolding for assembling of structures;
Construct bulkheads and assemble partitions;
Erect & dismantle formwork to suspended slabs, columns, beams & walls
Construction of the forms including placement of required supports / propping, connection of
shutters via z-bars, levelling of wall and induction of pour height;
Work with and/or remove hazardous material;
Striking and stacking of shutters;
Explain and enforce Occupational Health and Safety requirements and other industrial safety
matters;
Maintain a safe and clean work environment;
Instruct onsite personnel of lesser experience;
Pay: $45.00 – $55.00 per hour
