Friendly Disability Care Services (FDCS) is looking for compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as Disability Support Worker in Loganholme Brisbane for an immediate start on a casual basis. In this rewarding role, you will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities by providing personalized support and care. The successful applicant will be required to have their own car as well as comprehensive car insurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care: Assist clients with personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and other daily living activities.
Mobility Assistance: Help clients with mobility challenges, including transfers and the use of mobility aids.
Emotional Support: Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
Household Tasks: Assist with household chores, meal preparation, and medication management.
Community Engagement: Support clients in participating in community activities, social events, and appointments.
Communication: Collaborate with family members, healthcare professionals, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of client progress, incidents, and care provided.
Safety and Advocacy: Ensure the safety and well-being of clients, advocating for their needs and preferences.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent.
Previous experience in disability support, personal care, or a related field is an advantage.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, empathy, and patience; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Current First Aid and CPR certification
NDIS Workers Orientation Module Certificate
NDIS Screening Check
National Police Check
Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
Current Driver's License (without restrictions)
Comprehensive Car Insurance
Assist Client with medication administration certificate (or willing to complete)
Manual Handling Certificate (or willing to complete)
