About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Payroll Officer to join our Finance team in a part-time capacity. In this role, you will manage the end-to-end payroll cycle, support accurate and timely payroll processing, interpret relevant awards and National Employment Standards, and provide professional guidance to employees on pay-related matters. Your accuracy, discretion and attention to detail will be essential in maintaining compliance and supporting a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete the end-to-end processing of payroll for 180+ employees Australia-wide.
Manage manual pay adjustments and ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and on time.
Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
Ensure compliance within the payroll function, adhering to the relevant award, company policies, and legal requirements.
Respond promptly to payroll-related queries from employees at all levels.
Prepare detailed payroll reports for management, focusing on payroll trends and time and attendance data.
Collaborate with internal and international payroll teams, finance teams, and audit partners to ensure seamless operations and accurate reporting across the organisation.
Support month-end and year-end processes as required, with flexibility to increase hours during close periods.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the payroll system technology to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Required Experience
Previous experience in a payroll position, with a minimum of two years’ experience and a strong understanding of payroll functions and systems.
Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with Tanda is preferred, but not essential.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
Ability to interpret relevant award conditions, National Employment Standards (NES), and other employment regulations.
Tech-savvy with a continuous improvement mindset to optimise payroll processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams.
