The Chef reports to the Head Chef and plays a key role in delivering high-quality, creative dishes that enhance the overall guest experience. Working as part of a collaborative kitchen team, you will ensure food is prepared and presented to exceptional standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace. A few of your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking high-quality meals in line with menu standards, ensuring consistency in presentation and portion control.
- Supporting day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, service delivery, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organised environment.
- Assisting with menu development, seasonal offerings, and accommodating dietary requirements.
- Monitoring stock levels, managing inventory, and reducing waste through effective stock rotation practices.
- Providing guidance and support to junior kitchen staff while ensuring equipment is used and maintained correctly.
- Upholding all food safety, hygiene, and WH&S standards, and contributing to an exceptional guest dining experience.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience as a Chef in a high-volume restaurant, club, or hospitality venue.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety regulations, and hygiene standards.
- A keen eye for detail with a focus on quality, presentation, and consistency.
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining high standards.
- A proactive approach to menu innovation and continuous improvement.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Our Club:
Gallopers Sports Club sits on land that has been home to the Hamilton Bowls Club since 1928, originally owned by the Queensland Turf Club. After the Brisbane Racing Club formed in 2009 through a merger, it purchased and refurbished the site, reopening it as Gallopers in 2012. Supported by the Queensland Bookmakers’ Club, the venue is now a modern facility used by multiple clubs and over 8,000 members, while still honouring its long-standing community roots.

The salary package for this position will range between $75,000 - $85,000.
