Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) is a principal tertiary referral hospital within Northern Sydney Local Health District, delivering a comprehensive range of complex and highly specialised healthcare services to patients across Northern Sydney and New South Wales.

What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the position is to undertake clinical and applied research in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G). The trainee will be required to complete a research project by the end of the 12 months, under supervision of Reproduction and Perinatal Centre - Northern Precinct, Women and Babies Research, Kolling Institute, The University of Sydney. The Women and Babies Research, Kolling Institute is a multidisciplinary research group composed of obstetricians, gynaecologists, neonatologists, endocrinologists, epidemiologists, biostatisticians, research translation scientists, research midwives and nurses, trial coordinators. The aims are to improve the health of women and babies so that all have an improved quality of life. Ideal for trainees who wish to pursue research as part of their career and is designed to provide income support for the start of their research career. The position is part time, Monday to Friday, with days negotiable. The research fellow is expected to take part in the RNSH Department of O+G meetings as well the Women and Babies Research meetings, and to present their research at relevant national/international meetings.

Commitment to obstetrics and gynaecology research, with preference given to Candidates with an interest in high risk obstetrics

Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise

Adept ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, including the sharing of appropriate information internally and externally with key persons or services
